IMWCA is seeing an increased interest with volunteer fire departments starting or enhancing a junior/cadet firefighter (under18 years of age) program.  In response to this interest and demand, IMWCA will be expanding their coverage to include junior/cadet firefighter programs at our next policy renewal.  In past years, junior/cadet firefighters have not always been considered to be on a fire department roster and therefore active members of the fire department.   Therefore effective July 1, 2021, IMWCA will automatically add the junior/cadet firefighters payroll and/or classcode to the estimated and audited premium sheets.  It should be noted that these junior/cadet firefighters will be subject to the IMWCA volunteer firefighter criteria.  If you have questions or would like more information, please contact your Safety & Risk Advisor (previously known as Loss Control Representative).
